The feelings I was trying to portray in this photo was serenity and calmness. I think that the close up on the leaf with the blurred aperture creates a kind of calming effect when you see the photo. I think that I was able to capture these feelings, as the details with the leaf combined with the blurred fore and background and cool color theme create a definite feel of calmness and serenity when you see the photo. I think that the low contrast of the photo also help to create the calming effect of the photo that I was going after. I would like for the viewers of this photo to be calmed and appreciate the cool calming color theme. I would also want them to feel the idea of serenity and peace when they view this photo, thinking of a calm serene forest or something similar. I expected for this photo to look a little more out of focus and washed out than it did, it was very bright outside. I think that it turned out much better than I thought as it is very detailed and doesn't look washed out at all. I was surprised by how well the aperture looked and how it really added to the photo. I think the 3 most important elements are texture, shape, and line, with the lines of the leaf, the shape of the leaf and stem, and the texture of the leaf. The 3 most important principles are pattern in the veins of the leaf, emphasis on the point that the stem and leaf connect, and unity with everything coming together in the leaf.
